Dear Right-to-Repair friends and supporters

This Saturday, 17 October, we celebrate the 10th International Repair Day: a decade of people coming together to fix, share skills, save money, prevent waste, and show that our things are worth keeping.

This year’s theme is simple and powerful: repair brings us together.

From repair cafés and fixathons to workshops, exhibitions and community festivals, thousands of events are expected around the world. Last year’s International Repair Day saw more than 3,500 events in 50 countries.

If you want to get involved, there is still time to find a repair event near you. Groups across Europe are hosting activities throughout the weekend, including repair cafés, textile mending sessions, electronics and bike repairs, maker fairs, and public repair festivals.

Ten years on, International Repair Day is a reminder that repair is not only about fixing objects. It is about building a culture in which products are designed to last, repair information is accessible and spare parts are accessible and affordable, so people can choose repair before replacement.

You can now book a slot to have your broken appliances, bikes, jewellery, clothing assessed and, hopefully, mended at the next Burwell Repair Cafe on Sunday 7th February.

The earlier you book, the more likely we are to be able to see your item, and booking online means that we can advise you about any spare parts that might be needed, improving the chance that our repairers will be able to complete the job in one go.

We are very happy to accept up to three items per person - however, please submit a separate form for each repair, as this makes the organisation of the event simpler.

We will send emails with event details on the Friday before the Repair Cafe (at the latest), but we may also request more information about the item to assist our repairers. Emails will have 'Burwell Repair Cafe' in the subject field, so please check your junk folder.

If you make a booking, please record the time and date of the Repair Cafe (14:00-17:00 on 07/02/2027) in your diary or calendar.
